A Community Attitude Survey is often the most efficient way to provide the basis for a Change of Venue motion and an excellent precursor to conducting Jury Research.
- Quantitative telephonic study
- 300-500 people surveyed
- When there has been media coverage
- When there are issues of prejudice, wrongful acts or fairness
Community Attitude Surveys explore biases and pre-dispositions held by a large sample of the venue in which the case is being tried. These telephone surveys are extremely helpful in addressing sensitive issues that may be too inflammatory or deep seated to expose in open court. A Community Attitude Survey, conducted by Better Witnesses Trial Consulting Services, is an effective way of obtaining information about the jury pool that one cannot glean in a judge conducted voir dire.
